Africa

1. I thought it was really cool how he went out in the wild in a survival type situation just to take photos. I also thought Nick Brandt was strange because he thought of the African animals as mythical and that's why he likes to take pictures of them. I also learned that he was taking pictures of these animals to rase awareness that they are becoming extinct and people need to stop hunting them.

3. It is my favorite because it's out of the normal and you don't see a tribe out in the middle of nowhere everyday
4. Brandt slightly merged the chracters in this picture but not enough to where you could call it a true merger
5. Nick Brandt uses a medium-format film camera, which gives the desired black and white look, and he doesn't use telephoto lenses so he has to get closer to the animals.
6.He wants to stop the poaching problem in East Africa.
7. Bring awareness to people that these
animals are being poached
8."I want my images to achieve two things in this regard - to be an elegy to a world that is tragically vanishing, to make people see what beauty is disappearing. Also, to try and show that animals are sentient creatures equally as worthy of life as humans."

Black and white photographers 3

Ansel Adams 1.The things that caught my eyes were how most of his photos were black and white and seemed to be themed with a depression type mood.  2. I see a mountain with the moon light shining over it and a lake with a simplicity in it. I see a tree in a dry and hot desert being pushed over by wind. I smell the salt water and fish reeking from the lake. I smell the cold air that freezes my teeth. I hear the fish jump in and out of the water like a beat of the drum. I hear the tree hit the ground with a harsh smash due to the wind. I taste the cooked fish in my mouth. I taste the curiousity of what cactus juice taste like. I feel the blood run down my feet because i slipt on a rock. I feel the slippery sand and soft ripples of the ater. I feel the breeze of the empty and shallow desert.  3. I like tge blog concept its better to use and i have a good understanding  of hoy to show my photos and ideas.

American soldier

1. The picture with the soldier sittinh by himself is the most powerful because it's really sad and obvious that he's going through some hard times. 2.The images work together to tell a story by conveying the theme that being in the militaryis a tough job and comes with depression alot of the time 3.The captions enhance the photograph by tellingthe story behind them 4. Ian Fisher leaves for Iraq in March 2009.  When he returned from Iraq, he got married. 5. The verbs are usually written in past tense F1. Two sentences F2. First sentence provides date and what is hapenning F3. Second sentence provides info on what is hapenning in the photo and other backround information F4. Information beyond the second sentence F5. Yes, most of them F6. Yes 6. The visual give you a picture in your mind to refer to and the caption includes backround info so you know more in depth 7. With a story you can have a "bigger caption" which basically means more detail and context
